Fifteen Catholic High Students Honored by National Merit
Eight members of the Catholic High School Class of 2011 have been named National Merit Semifinalists and seven seniors have received National Merit Commended honors by the National Merit Corporation and College Board.
National Merit Semifinalists are Jack Collins, son of Terri and Mel Collins, attended St. Jude the Apostle School; Garrett Corripio, son of Lacey and Bernie Corripio, attended St. Thomas More School; Haggai Davis III, son of Paula and Haggai Davis II, attended St. Jude the Apostle School; Michael Kelly, son of Cathy and Larry Kelly, Home School; Luke Matheny, son of Jane and Danny Matheny, attended Runnels; John Moore, son of Barbara and John Moore, attended Our Lady of Mercy School; Christopher Sloas, son of Amy and Stephen Tolivar and David Sloas, attended St. Aloysius School; David Stewart, son of Kim and John Stewart, attended St George School.
National Merit Commended Students include John Abrams, son of Julie and Mathew Abrams, attended St. Jude the Apostle School; Michael Cangelosi, son of Theresa and Robert Cangelosi, attended Our Lady of Mercy School; Austin Daspit, son of Kristie and Brian Daspit, attended Baton Rouge Lutheran School; Tyler Hood, son of Marianne and Tim Hood, attended Sacred Heart of Jesus School; Michael Murray, son of Gaye and Mike Murray, attended St. Aloysius School; Zachary Windham, son of Cheryl and Steve Windham, attended St. Thomas More School; and Ken Zielewski, son of Elizabeth and Chris Zielewski, attended Sacred Heart of Jesus School.
National Achievement Semifinalists will be released on September 29th.
