Fifteen CHS Students Recognized by National Merit

Eight Catholic High seniors have been named National Merit Semifinalists and seven have received National Merit Commended honors in the National Merit Scholarship Program. 

Thomas Barfield, Keegan Callerame, Jake Campesi, Michael DeJean, Miles Durio, Lawrence Elkins, Hunter Rube and Parker Say are National Merit Semifinalists. 

Thomas Barfield is the son of Nan and Tim Barfield and attended Our Lady of Mercy.  Keegan Callerame is the son of Cheryl and Kevin Callerame and attended Episcopal.  Jake Campesi is the son of Kathryn and Michael Campesi and attended St. John the Evangelist.  Michael DeJean is the son of Ann and Ron DeJean and attended St. Thomas More.  Miles Durio is the son of Stephanie and Thomas Hutchinson and Joseph Durio and attended St. Jude the Apostle.  Lawrence Elkins is the son of Kate and Chuck Elkins and attended St. John of Plaquemine. Hunter Rube is the son of Jeanne and Shaan Rube and attended St. Thomas More.  Parker Say is the son of Suzette and Douglas Say and attended Our Lady of Mercy.

Michael Lusco, Cole Mancuso, Matthew Polito, Ryan Schexnaildre, Ross Thompson,  Jack Toups and Ben Westra are named National Merit Commended Students.

Michael Lusco is the son of Melissa and Mark Lusco and attended St. Aloysius.  Cole Mancuso is the son of Danielle and Barry Mancuso and attended St. George.  Matthew Polito is the son of Kathy and Anthony Polito and attended St. Thomas More.  Ryan Schexnaildre is the son of Kelly and Mark Schexnaildre and attended St. Jude the Apostle.  Ross Thompson is the son of Angee and Steve Thompson and attended St. Jude the Apostle.  Jack Toups is the son of Corey and Shaun Toups and attended Our Lady of Mercy.  Ben Westra is the son of Heather and John Westra and attended Sacred Heart.
