Football Bears To Take On Walker In Jamboree Match Up

The Catholic High football team gets its last pre-season work on Friday versus Walker in the Walker Jamboree.  The Bears’ JV squad takes to the field at 6pm with the varsity to follow thirty minutes after the conclusion of the JV jamboree.  The JV game will consist of two, 10-minute halves with the Varsity to follow two, 12-minutes halves.

The Bears defeated Denham Springs in its live quarter of scrimmage action last Friday, 14-7.  Jake Outlaw and Josh Parker scored rushing touchdowns for the Bears against the Yellow Jackets.

The Bears will get tested by an athletic and improved Walker program under the direction of former NFL quarterback Lester Ricard.  Walker defeated Comeaux High of Lafayette, 13-7, last Friday evening.  The Wildcats sport receivers who have been offered scholarships by LSU and Notre Dame respectively.  The jamboree will be contested at Walker High School in Livingston Parish.

Walker lost in the first round of the playoffs last season to the defending Class 5A state champions in Landry-Walker, 14-7.

The season opener against Parkview Baptist is on the horizon, with a Thursday night date set for August 30, at Olympia Stadium.  Kickoff will be at 7 p.m.
