Fourth Annual CHS Alumni Fishing Rodeo Set for June 24 and 25

Register now for the Fourth Annual Alumni Fishing Rodeo is set for June 24 and 25, 2011 at Chris Moraní´s Marina in Port Fourchon.

Fishing and weigh-in will begin on Friday, June 24, and continues on Saturday, June 25. Scales open at 2 p.m. and close promptly at 6 p.m. each day.

Something new this year — in addition to the base entry fee, the 2011 CHS Alumni Fishing Rodeo will have four separate Calcutta divisions.  Each Calcutta will have two optional entry levels.  Entry levels in the amounts ($50 and $100).  Each team can pay in at $50 or $100 or both.  The four Calcutta divisions are as follows:
     Œ« 5 trout stringer
     Œ« 5 mangrove stringer
     Œ« 3 red fish (all 3 fish must be under 27íñ)
     Œ« Offshore Grand Slam (Heaviest combined weight of 3 species: Tuna, Wahoo, and Dolphin)

In addition to prizes awarded for first through third places and the Master Angler prize, a raffle will be held at Moraní´s Marina on Saturday evening for a kayak valued at $1,000 donated by The Backpacker and other great prizes from Cabelaí´s and other rodeo sponsors.

There will be a Registration and Captain’s Meeting on Tuesday, June 21, in the CHS Union. Food and beverages are free and will be provided by Zippyí´s Burritos, Tacos & More.
