Freshman Curtis Westmoland Wins LA Gran Prix State Finals

CHS Freshman Curtis Westmoland won the Junior Boys Division and received a $350 scholarship in the LA Gran Prix State Finals held at Circle Bowl on January 15 and 16, 2011.  In the finals, he went undefeated (5-0) with an average of 209 for the weekend and won the Championship match 215-193. 

Westmoland competed against 63 bowlers in the Junior Boys Division.

Curtis is a sanctioned USBC member.  He qualified during league play in the fall 2010.  Each year a statewide qualifying event is held for 2 weeks. Top bowlers (decided by scores bowled) from each Bowling Center throughout the State qualify to participate in an annual event held each January.  Curtis was high qualifier from Don Carters here in Baton Rouge in the Junior Boys Division.
