Freshman Jacob Thornton Earns Eagle Rank
CHS Freshman, Jacob L. Thornton, earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 7 sponsored by Saint Aloysius Catholic Church. Eagle is the highest rank awarded by the Boy Scouts of America; and it denotes service, leadership and character.
Of every 100 boys who join Scouting, only two will achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. To earn the rank, a Scout must progress through six lesser ranks, earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, serve in leadership positions with the troop and provide service to the community. In addition the Scout must plan, develop and lead an Eagle service project approved by the Scouting Organization.
Thorntoní´s project involved building benches for Saint Philomena Catholic Church.
