Freshman Michael Padial Receives Don Cook Memorial Award

CHS Freshman Michael Padial received the 2015 Don Cook Memorial Award.  The award is given to the female and male Baton Rouge (and now the surrounding parishes) swimmer who scores the most points at the Louisiana  Short and Long Course State Championship each year.  The award consists of a rotating plaque with each recipient receiving a permanent plaque.

Michael won an astounding 11 out of 13 individual state championship races, scoring a total of 234 points.

The Don Cook Memorial Award was established in 1969 by former teammates of Don Cook, a 1966 graduate of Catholic High who was killed in action during the Vietnam War.
