Golf Team Defeats 2016 State Champs, U-High
The Bluffs on Thompson’s Creek served as the host for the latest CHS golf match where the Bears faced Live Oak and defending Division III state champion U-High on Tuesday, March 14. U-High entered the match with the lowest team scores of the 2017 Metro Golf League and sports one of the top individual golfers as well.
The Bears proved that they are a team to be reckoned with at the Metro Championships next month with their winning team score of 152. The Cubs fired a 159 while Live Oak shot a 198.
Carson Caruso and Jonathan Ellis shot a two over par 37 to tie for the individual win. D.J. Johnson finished third with a 38. Max Trapp shot a 40 and Luke Miller holed a 41 to complete the scoring for the Bears.
CHS heads to the Barbe Invitational Thursday, March 16 for an 18-hole tournament at Gray Plantation in Lake Charles. Teams from around the state in all divisions will converge this afternoon at Gray for highly competitive prep golf action. Both the A and B golf teams will compete on Thursday.
