Golf Team Finished Second In Barbe Invitational
The CHS golf team finished second at the Barbe Invitational at Gray Plantation in Lake Charles on Thursday, March 16. The Bears shot a 313 to finish one stroke behind the 312 round turned in by West Monroe. Over twenty teams from around the state participated in the event. Freshman Jonathan Ellis was second overall with a one under score of 71. Senior Luke Miller shot a 76 for the Bears.
Head coach Pat Dulaney was pleased with his team’s effort. “I am proud of the guys for representing our program and Catholic High so well on the trip to Lake Charles,” said Dulaney. “We were two strokes from winning a tournament against a very competitive field. Today capped off a strong week for the Bears as we defeated U High on Wednesday on the challenging course at The Bluffs. This week will prepare us for Metro which is just a few weeks away.”
The Bears will be on the course next week with its A, B and freshmen teams seeing action in the Baton Rouge area.
