Golf Team Takes Third Place in State Championship
The CHS golf team took third place in the state championship tournament, which was held on Monday and Tuesday, April 29 and 30 at East Ridge Country Club in Shreveport.
The Bears played well throughout the two-day tournament, ending with a team score of 617. Mark Bienvenu finished in the top 10 tying for eighth place with a total score of 149, shooting a 76 on day one and a 73 on day two.
“This has been a very successful year,” commented CHS Head Golf Coach Patrick Dulaney. “I am very pleased with how hard our young men worked throughout the year. We started back in September and developed into a championship-level program. Although we struggled in day one of the state tournament, we held our heads high and fought to rebound and make some noise on day two. I am so proud of these young men as they are a sign of strength and determination.”
“I am really proud of the way the guys stayed positive both days out on the course. They never gave up from start to finish,” agreed CHS Assistant Golf Coach Patrick Jenkins.
