Grant Grenfell Signs To Swim at LSU
Senior Grant Grenfell has signed a letter of intent to swim at Louisiana State University.
A four-year varsity letterman, Grenfell is the defending state champion is the 200IM and was state runner íup in the 100 backstroke. He won the city championship in the 200 individual and was part of the team that took first in all three relays.
An All -American swimmer for three years, Grenfell is also an Academic All- American for the past two years. He holds the Catholic High swimming record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 52:15 and the school record in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:37.96.
íÍLSU provides a home town feel and a great friendship base for the next few years of school for me,íñ commented Grenfell. Swimming for the Tigers upholds a unique standard of excellence that I feel will not only enjoy being a part of, but also I will act upon and carry-out for the rest of my life. I am proud to say that I am officially an LSU Tiger,íñ added Grenfell.
Catholic High Head Swim Coach Doug Logsdon noted that íÍSenior Team Captain Grant Grenfell represents everything that we hope and expect for our CHS swimmers. He is committed to working hard in the classroom and in the pool to make himself better through hard work. We are proud to say that he represents Catholic High and we wish him the best of luck at LSU.
Grenfell is the son of John and Kathy Grenfell and plans to major in Biology at LSU. He is the 12th CHS graduate since 2000 to swim at the collegiate level.
