Hartman Brunt ’08 Named CHS Distinguished Graduate

Hartman Brunt, Class of 2008, will be honored as Catholic Highí´s Distinguished Graduate at the Diocesan Distinguished Graduate Awards Dinner on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, as part of the celebration of Catholic Schools Week. 

While at CHS, Hartman served as co-president of the Honor Board and was a member of the football team, National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  He was a student ambassador and a student minister.  He was named the Outstanding Graduate of the class of 2008 and was also awarded the American Legion Award and Man of the Year Award. 

Hartman began forming a non-profit called Health Initiative Abroad, Inc. while a senior at Catholic High.  The mission of his organization is to promote wellness through health education.  Health Initiative Abroad, Inc. has provided financial assistance for Haiti and members of HIA have also had the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica to assist doctors with medical exams. In the near future, Brunt plans to provide assistance to Brother Chris Sweeny, SC í´84 with his work on the rebuilding of a school in Mozambique.

Hartman is currently a pre-med student at LSU.
