Head Baseball Coach Kyle Achord Retires as Baseball Coach and Joins Marucci Sports

Catholic High Head Baseball Coach Kyle Achord will not be returning to Catholic High and will be retiring from coaching baseball.  Achord will be joining Marucci as Director of Team Sales and the Marucci Mobile Tour.

Achord served as Head Baseball Coach at Catholic High for four years with a record of 114-33.  He led the Bears to a 5-A State Championship in 2010 and to the State Semifinals in 2008 and 2011.

Catholic High was district champion in 2008 and 2011. The Bears won 30 or more games 3 of the 4 seasons Achord served as Head Coach.

“Kyle did an outstanding job as a faculty member and as our head baseball coach during his four years here.  He is a good man and a good coach.  While we are sorry to see him go, we understand this was a personal decision he felt he needed to make to take care of his family.  I believe we have an opportunity to find the right person to continue the tradition of excellence in Catholic High baseball,íñ commented Catholic High Principal Brother Barry Landry, SC.

Achord has coached for 18 years and has an overall coaching record of 429-130.

íÍI truly believe I am leaving the best high school baseball coaching job in the state.  Catholic High School has been a great place to work and has done a lot for me personally, professionally and spiritually,íñ commented Achord.

Catholic High is accepting applications for Head Baseball Coach until June 10.  Please contact Brother Barry Landry, SC at bblandry@catholichigh.org
