Health Initiative Abroad To Host Art for Africa September 17

Health Initiative Abroad (HIA) is hosting Art for Africa this Saturday, September 17, 2011. The event, which is a silent auction featuring works from local artists and merchants, will take place at the Kress Gallery at 447 Third Street in downtown Baton Rouge from 5-8PM (Bidding Closes at 7:30). Admission is $30 online at www.HIAbroad.org/art-for-africa  , or $35 at the door. All proceeds benefit the reestablishment of a health clinic in Amatongas, Mozambique.

Health Initiative Abroad was founded in August 2008 by 12 members of the Catholic High class of 2008. These founding members had all grown to appreciate Catholic Highí´s teaching of service to others. Those teachings laid the groundwork for establishing HIA, which operates as a growing non-profit organization, dedicated to making a difference in peopleí´s lives through healthy and sustainable communities.
