Hoopsters Show Well In Country Day Classic – Host Upcoming Red Stick Tourney

The Country Day Classic is one of the most prestigious holiday prep basketball tournaments in the state. The Bears defeated Division I rival Archbishop Rummel and 4A power McDonogh 35, to reach the Classic semifinals. The Bears dropped a close one, a two point loss to Country Day in the semifinals, and to Scotlandville in the 3rd place game. Country Day and Scotlandville are both defending state champions from last season.

Collin Holloway led the Bears in the 3rd place game with 17 points in the 67-53 loss. Holloway was named to the Country Day Classic All-Tournament team for his efforts in the four game holiday stretch.

Catch the Bears after Christmas when the team returns to action in the Red Stick Classic, hosted by Catholic High School. The tournament begins Dec. 27th, and wraps up on Dec. 30th. The Bears open the tournament against Family Christian Academy with tip-off set for 6:30 p.m.
