Indoor Track & Field Competes In “Last Chance” State Qualifier
The indoor track and field team competed in the “Last Chance” state qualifier at LSU on Saturday, Feb. 4.
Kam Cummings lowered his school record in the 55-meter hurdles with a winning time of 8.03 seconds. Cummings will bid for his third straight indoor state title at the state meet on Feb. 18. Zach Tom won the shot put with a throw of over 55 feet.
Also qualifying for the Division I state indoor meet are: Sethan Hollier, 55 meters; Vernon Langley, 55 meter hurdles; London Lewis, shot put; 4×200 and 4×400 meter relay teams of Cade Rounds, Sethan Hollier, Tyrell Jackson and Lane Palmisano; and the 4×800 meter relay team of Eric Anderson, Matthew Howell, Brian Miller and Harold Miller.
On the qualifying bubble are 1,600 meter runners Harold Miller and Caleb Dugas, and 3,200 meter runners James Lalonde and Thomas Laville. The four distance runners hope to make the field of 10-12 runners.
