Khalil Thomas Recognized As Finalist for Warrick Dunn Award

Senior running back Khalil Thomas was recognized as a 2012 Warrick Dunn Award Finalist at the Warrick Dunn Awards Banquet, held on Thursday, January 17, presented by WAFB.

Thomas was one of nine finalists selected by a panel of local media, coaches and officials from football players in the WAFB Channel 9 Sportsline Friday Nite coverage area. Thomas was introduced as a Sportsline Friday Nite Player of the Week for the 2012 season.

As a finalist for the 2012 Warrick Dunn Award, he was presented a plaque by Warrick Dunn í´93, former CHS, Florida State, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons football star.

This season, Thomas was named to the All-District, All-Metro and All-State teams. He also represented CHS in the US Army Red Stick Bowl in November and was named offensive MVP of the game.

Thomas has committed to play football for McNeese State University in Lake Charles beginning in the 2013 season.

Thomas is the son of Walter and Lovetta Thomas.
