Lacrosse Team To Open District Play Against the Central Wildcats
The 3-3 CHS Lacrosse team opens district play on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at home against the Central Wildcats. Faceoff on the turf is set for 6:30 p.m.
The Bears enter the district opener off their weekend trip to Shreveport, where they put up a 2-1 record against stiff competition. The series provided the staff the opportunity to evaluate their lineups heading into district and allowed the team to build chemistry as they work toward their goal of winning another district title.
A brief recap of the last weekend’s games:
The Bears beat Airline 10-2 behind Christopher Miller’s five goals. The defense was led by keeper Beau Abadie’s six saves and defenseman Michael Browning with three takeaways.
The Bears suffered defeat in their next match to Loyola College Prep, 14-1. Taylor Fontenot provided the highlight for the Bears, leading the defense with four takeaways. The CHS defense did hold Loyola’s All-American player to just three points.
The lacrosse teams closed out their trip up north with a 9-2 win over Caddo Magnet. The offense was led by Christopher Miller with five points – three goals and two assists – while Holden Davis chipped in three points – two goals and an assist. Keeper Beau Abadie again led the defense with seven saves and Michael Browning added three takeaways and three ground balls.
