Lane Poché Chosen to Compete in State CYLA Competition, Six Seniors Honored
Seven Catholic High seniors were selected by their respective Knights of Columbus councils to advance in the Catholic Youth Leadership Award Scholarship Program (CYLA). Cameron Crochet, Jack Matthews, Eric Schroeder, James Robert, Steffek Rainey, Lane Poché and Nicholas Noel competed at the diocesan level. Each of the seven dioceses select one senior boy and one senior girl finalist to compete at the state competition for a $4,000 scholarship. We are thrilled to announce that Lane Poché was selected as the Diocesan winner! Lane will go on to compete at the state level.
The CYLA scholarship has been awarded annually by the Knights of Columbus since 1959. The program recognizes young Catholic men and women who are faithful role models to others in their schools, churches or community. By participating in the program, candidates are offered an opportunity to be recognized as one of the best Catholic students in their respective schools. The recognition encourages these outstanding students to hold true to their Catholic values and accept the varied leadership roles they will be asked to fill in the future.
