Large Catholic High Group Participate in the 2014 Blessings on the Bayou
More than 40 CHS students and 10 alumni, including Fr. Michael Alello í´98, attended the Blessings on the Bayou at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Labadieville, Louisiana, on June 18 through 22, 2014. Other schools in attendance were St. Alphonsus, St. Aloysius, St. Thomas More, St. John in Prairieville, St. Philomena and St. Josephí´s Academy. The theme for the mission was íÍWe Areííñ
Working together, the group painted, landscaped and cleaned the houses of elderly members of the parish and the larger community, and helped to clean the parish cemetery. The schools also came together to visit and pray with the elderly shut-ins in the parish.
Each night, the students and alumni participated in a large group sharing of íÍgraces of the day.íñ A time for one-on-one sharing, reflection and a significant prayer experience, íÍgraces of the dayíñ also provided opportunities to participate in the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick.
