LEARNING GOSPEL VALUES – CHS Student Ministry Prepares To Lead

Approximately 40 CHS juniors and seniors joined 100 students from five schools at Stanislaus last week for the annual Judy Stewart Student Ministry Workshop.

Alongside their peers from Brother Martin, E.D. White, St. Scholastica, St. Stanislaus and Vandebilt, the CHS student ministry team spent three days praying and learning together, and preparing to serve our school community. Participants were trained to lead small groups, plan and serve at liturgies, resolve conflicts, plan retreats and prayer services, and much more. The workshop offered valuable prayer opportunities and experiences, and concluded with a commissioning mass attended by Mrs. Lisa Harvey, CHS principal.

Several Brothers of the Sacred Heart participated in helping keep the workshop faithful to their charism, including Br. Bernard Couvillion, Br. Ray Hebert, Br. John Hotstream and Mr. Lucas Jaet who will become a novice Brother next month.

The student ministers left the workshop inspired to bring the blessings of their experience to all in the CHS community throughout the year.
