Living Gospel Values – CHS Wrestling Team Builds Wheelchair Ramp For Rebuilding Together Baton Rouge
On Saturday, August 25, CHS wrestlers, coaches and parents worked together to build a much needed wheelchair ramp for a family in North Baton Rouge. The wrestling program uses this annual project to emphasize the importance of serving others. This was the second year for the team to build wheelchair ramps, after discovering what a rewarding experience it was last year. These young men used all kinds of tools, learned many new skills and were able to see a project through from start to finish.
The project was made possible by Rebuilding Together Baton Rouge, a national organization whose mission is to bring volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of elderly or disabled low-income homeowners. A wide range of home repair services are provided through volunteer labor, allowing them to stay in their own homes as they age.
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace. 1 Peter 4:10
