London A Cappella Group Hold Workshop with CHS/SJA Choir
What do 15 college students from Imperial College London who all major in different areas of science have in common? They are all members of Techtonics, an all-male a cappella singing group that won the 2016 International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella.
The Techtonics, who are in their 10th year, are on their ÒDeep SouthÓ tour in the U.S.; one of their stops being Catholic High School. On Monday, Sept. 11, they made their way into each CHS choir class to give a workshop demonstrating vocal technique, warm-up exercises, breathing and pitch exercises. They also taught the students their arrangement of “House of the Rising Sun.”
Want to hear more? The Techtonics will give a 45 minute concert this evening, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. in the CHS band room. Admission is $8 at the door.
Techtonics perform for CHS/SJA choir members.
