Luke Zumo ’04 Recognized for Excelling On and Off the Basketball Court
Luke Zumo ’04, a guard for the Loyola University’s men’s basketball team, has received honors for excelling on and off of the court. For his accomplishments off of the court, Zumo was named to the Second Team-ESPN All-Academic All-District team in District 6 of the College Division. For his athletic talents on the court, he received recognitions from the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Zumo was named to the GCAC All-Conference Men’s Basketball Team and as an honorable mention on the 2007-08 All-America Team.
Zumo led the Loyola Wolfpack in scoring an average of 18 points per game and a total of 522 points for the 2007-08 season. During his career at Loyola, Zumo hit 247 three pointers, the second most in Loyola history. He scored 1,573 points during his career which is third on the Loyola career scoring list. On January 17 against Dillard, he tied a GCAC record with 18 made free throws. Zumo was 13th in the NAIA with 2.9 three pointers per game.
Zumo, a two-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athete, will graduate in May 2008 with a degree in psychology.
