Mason Ibert To Play Basketball at Loyola University in New Orleans
Senior Mason Ibert has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Loyola University in New Orleans.
Ibert was a two-year starter for the Bears and a three-year varsity letterman. He averaged 18 points and 6 rebounds as a senior and was named to the First Team All-District. Ibert served as co-captain for the team.
“I felt at home at Loyola. Of all my visits, Loyola was my favorite place. I like the campus and coaching staff,” commented Ibert.
Michael Giorlando, head mení´s basketball coach at Loyola, attended the signing at Catholic High.
“We are thrilled to have a student-athlete of Masoní´s caliber in our program. He is going to be a great addition to our team and we are looking forward to his contributions on and off the floor,” commented Giorlando.
Head Catholic High School Basketball Coach Michael Toups also played basketball for Loyola from 1994-97.
“This is a well-deserved honor for Mason to be able to play for such a fine university. He had an excellent basketball career for us and I look forward to hearing about his inevitable success at Loyola,” commented Toups.
Ibert is the son of Michael and Lisa Ibert. He plans to pursue a career in physical therapy.
Catholic High alums who have played basketball at Loyola include Luke Zumo í´04, Daniel Wagenspack í´98, Ronnie Shelton í´95, Blake Sanz í´95 and Bryan Denison í´92.
