Matthew Vidrine Honored as Youth Volunteer of the Year

Catholic High Junior Matthew Vidrine was honored as Youth Volunteer of the Year by Volunteer Ascension in celebration of National Volunteer Week April 21-25.

Vidrine has volunteered for seven years, putting in 30-40 hours each month. He has been responsible for planning and implementing programs that benefit the 2nd to 8th grade youth in the St. Amant community including vacation bible school group leader, youth minister and tutor, to name a few.

During Hurricane Gustav, Vidrine helped neighbors clean up debris, cover roof tops and cut down trees. He also volunteered with the Fellowship Center unloading donated items and stocking shelves.
During the holiday seasons, Vidrine helps with food baskets and gifts for those in need.

Vidrine is the son of Greg and Tammy Vidrine.
