Mu Alpha Theta Takes Sweepstakes in Math Tournament
Five students and three teams from Catholic High School placed in the Baton Rouge Magnet High School Math Tournament on October 13, 2007.
Those placing were Stephen Crosby, first place in Algebra I and second place in Algebra I ciphering; Steven Olsen, second place in Algebra I and first place in Algebra I ciphering; Patrick LeBas, third place in Algebra I ciphering, David Stewart, third place in Geometry; and Andrew Stewart, first place in Advanced Math.
Student teams placing in the tournament were Andrew Stewart, Timmy Borgmeyer and Gabe Landry, first place in Advanced Math; Scott Causey, Michael Thomas, Calvin Turk and Chris Scorintino – first place in Calculus AB; and David Stewart, John Moore, Gill Walker and Preston Pittman – third place in Geometry.
Teams placing in the tournament were John Moore and David Stewart ‘ first place in Algebra I; Nathan Bush, Michael LaCombe, Casey Fitzgerald and Steven Spedale ‘ first place in geometry; Peter Sicard and Ross Starks ‘ second place in Algebra I; Scott Causey, Aaron Humphreys, Chris Sciortino and Jeffrey Roussel ‘ second place in advanced math; Michael Constant, Jordan Krouse, Peter Nictakis and John Shamma ‘ third place in geometry; Peter Henry, Daniel Nelson, Matthew Smith and Andrew Stewart ‘ third place in Algebra II; and Kyle Babin, Chris Demas, Jim Parks and Andrew Townsend ‘ third place in advanced math.
