Ninth Annual Taste Fair Draws Over 700 People
The Ninth Annual Catholic High School Taste Fair was held on Sunday, November 16, 2008, in the Catholic High School Gymnasium.
Restaurants, caterers and distributors in and around the Baton Rouge area came to showcase samples of their finest food. Over 700 people attended the event.
Participating in this year’s Taste Fair were Acme Oyster House, Ambrosia Bakery, Baton Rouge Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Baton Rouge Beer Agency/Miller Lite, Bennigan’s Grill and Tavern, Bistro Byronz, Caf_ Americain Restaurant and Catering, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Community Coffee Company, LLC, DiGiulio Brothers, Doe’s Eat Place, Drusilla Seafood Restaurant and Drusilla Place Catering, Galatoire’s Bistro, Heads & Tails, Juban’s Restaurant/The Silver Spoon, Kleinpeter Farms Dairy, LLC, Louisiana Lagniappe, Mansurs on the Boulevard, On the Half Shell, Parrain’s Seafood Restaurant, Paul Wong’s Chinese and Sushi, Roberto’s, Serop’s Caf_, The Wine Loft, The Grape, Varnadoe’s at The Bluffs and WalkOn’s Bistreaux and Bar.
Prize winners for the evening were DeNea Riche, Community Coffee gift basket; Susan Matthews, Hi-Nabor gift basket; Norman Nolan ’92, Chocollage gift basket; Lana DeNicola, Whole Foods gift basket; Dr. Jimmy Hannie ’52, $100 cash prize; Matt Cotton, $250 cash prize; Pete Tully, Fresh Market gift basket; and Ed Ward, $150 cash prize.
Proceeds from the event will benefit alumni activities on campus as well as to help fund the Alumni Association Scholarship.
The chairman of this year’s event is Patrick Hannie. Members of the Alumni Board of Directors will be assisting with the event along with Dr. James Hannie, Glen Randow, director of Alumni Relations and Barbara Camp, alumni events coordinator.
