Over 600 Students Filled the Gym for WAFB Morning Pep Rally

Over 600 students filled the Gym wearing their orange this morning for the Homecoming Pep Rally which was broadcast live on WAFB Channel 9.  

Johnny Ahysen and Diane Deaton from WAFB 9News This Morning showcased the Catholic High spirit as they reported live from CHS.  Students from CHS and St. Josephí´s Academy filled the stands cheering for the Bears as the CHS Band, Bruinettes and Cheerleaders performed.  Student Council performed skits and lead the students in cheers. 

While students cheered in the background, Johnny and Diane interviewed CHS Principal Brother Barry Landry, SC; CHS Alums and former LSU National Baseball Championship Team members, Patrick Coogan í´93 and Bhrett McCabe íî90; CHS Alumni Association Past President David Beach í´96; CHS Athletic Director Pete Boudreaux í´59; and CHS Head Football Coach Dale Weiner. 

“Having the opportunity to have a one hour pep rally and seeing everyone dressed in orange really added to the excitement of Homecoming,” commented CHS Senior and Band Member Evan Fontenot.

“It was most definitely the best Pep Rally we’ve had in my four years at CHS.  And, for it to be at 6 a.m. is just crazy!” stated Andrew Gahagan, CHS senior and student council member.
