PAGE “Mission vs. Market” Meetings Successful
The Parents Annual Giving Event (PAGE) kicked off with two presentations on Sunday, August 31 and Tuesday, September 1 in the CHS Union titled íÍMission vs. Market: Sustaining Gospel Values in an Ever-Changing World.íñ Parents of incoming 8th and 9th grade students were required to attend one of the two presentations during which they were informed of the reason behind and the importance of PAGE
Speakers included CHS President, Gene Tullier, who focused on the vitality of the CHS Mission as well as two specific challenges that the school faces, affordability and the increasing cost of excellence. Joe Kelly, PAGE chair, reinforced the message by sharing his own experience as a CHS parent and asking parents to consider a level of gift that was appropriate for their family. Hal Dupuy, CHS director of advancement, instructed parents on how to make their donation and all of the options available to fulfill their commitments.
Each parent received a personalized and confidential packet when they arrived at the meeting which included a commitment form to be returned to CHS by September 11.
íÍThe íîmandatory meetingí´ model began last year and resulted in the most successful PAGE campaign in the schoolí´s history. Because of the level of support that we received, we were able to limit tuition increases for the 2009-2010 school year, significantly increase money budgeted for faculty in-service training, increase the budget for instructional technology by more than 40 percent and increase faculty and staff compensation and benefits,íñ commented Gene Tullier, CHS president.
PAGE is an opportunity for parents to invest and partner in their soní´s education on a tax-deductible basis. As with all Brothers of the Sacred Heart Schools, CHS strives to remain cost-accessible to as many families as possible. PAGE gifts go directly into the schoolí´s operational budget and are used to fund many aspects of the schoolí´s daily operation, including teacherí´s salaries.
The chaircouple for the 2009-10 PAGE program is Joe and Judith Kelly. Joe and Judith are the parents of Knox í´08 and Graves íî10. For more information, parents can contact the CHS Office of Advancement at (225) 389-0978 or email@example.com.
