Pete Boudreaux ’59 To Be Inducted into Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame
Pete Boudreaux í´59, CHS head track coach for 46 years, will be inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame in June 2014.
During his time at CHS, he has accumulated 39 State Titles, 21 State Runner-up Titles and 59 District/Metro Titles in Cross Country, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track. He was recognized in 2010 by Gill Athletics as the National High School Track and Field Coach of the Year.
íÍTo be mentioned in the same sentence with some of the most accomplished athletes in the state of Louisiana is unfathomable. It has never been my goal to receive this type of recognition so it is so humbling. I am eternally grateful the person who nominated me and to the athletes and coaches at Catholic High School who have made this happen,íñ commented Coach Boudreaux.
Many honors have been bestowed on Pete including Louisiana Coach of the Year (14 times), Athletic Director of the Year, National High School Regional Coach of the Year, Louisiana High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame and LSU Track Officials Hall of Fame, to name a few. Boudreaux, a CHS Hall of Fame inductee and CHS Grizzly Greats Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, has served as history teacher, guidance counselor, head of guidance, chair of the physical education department, athletic director and head coach of the cross country and track teams.
