Raymond Post Family Scholarship Fund Established
The ‘Raymond Post Family Scholarship Fund’ has recently been established by Mr. and Mrs. Raymond G. Post, Jr. ’57. Their thoughts and feeling are expressed beautifully in the following paragraph.
‘Perhaps it is normal for all of us, as we grow older, to reflect on important opportunities which helped guide us to successful lives. My mother and father, Ernestine and Raymond Post, instilled in me the importance and obligation to give back to others a small share of what others have done to allow me and my family to enjoy our lives. To them, Catholic High School was a critical part of the process of growing up, and they both contributed freely of their time to assist the school in every way. My wife, Bryan, and I feel very strongly in a most positive way about the importance of Catholic High in establishing a strong foundation of education and discipline as our son, Raymond ‘Ray’ Post III ’86, and I grew both physically and mentally under the guidance of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart and the lay staff. Bryan and I feel that one way to ‘give back’ is to establish a Scholarship Fund which will allow worthy young men to fulfill their educational opportunity even if their financial resources are limited. We know that this will continue to allow CHS to send well educated and responsible citizens into our community in the future, and three generations of the Raymond Post family will have helped in a small way.’
‘This is a another excellent example of our alumni giving back to Catholic High and to others in order for them to receive some of the same blessings that they themselves received as a student,’ said Director of Development Hal Dupuy ’73. ‘Their interest in CHS and furthering the spirit and mission of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart will be a lasting gift that will help advance the academic excellence of our school for years to come. We are so blessed to have benefactors like Skipper and Bryan Post.’
