Robotics Club Builds Robot for “Rebound Rumble” Competition
The CHS Robotics Club, in its second year, participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition. The competition begins in January when all teams receive the current yearí´s challenge. Each team has six weeks to design and build their robot. Members of the CHS Robotics team worked seven days a week during building season, a huge time commitment for these dedicated students.
At the competition, alliances of three robots compete against other alliances in tournament play. This yearí´s game, called íÍRebound Rumble,íñ was based on basketball. The CHS robot drives, and shoots (non-regulation) basketballs into goals.
íÍThe guys really learned to work well as a team and developed problem-solving and construction skills,íñ commented CHS Robotics Moderator Vic Caffarel.
The CHS Robotics Club Robot will be part of todayí´s Challenge Pep Rally.
