Senior Brendan Hardin Receives Congressional Appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy
CHS senior Brendan Hardin received a Congressional Appointment to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Hardin was nominated by Congressman Garret Graves, CHS alumnus from the class of 1990. Graves called CHS to personally congratulate and announce the news to Hardin about his appointment.
Each member of Congress can have five constituents attending the Naval Academy at any time. As the undergraduate college of our countryí´s naval service, the Naval Academy prepares young men and women to become professional officers of competence, character and compassion in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Naval Academy students are midshipmen on active duty in the U.S. Navy.
Hardin will attend the academy for four years, graduate with bachelor of science degree and commissioned as an ensign in the Navy or second lieutenant in the Marine Corps. Naval Academy graduates serve at least five years in the Navy or Marine Corps.
