Senior Derrius Guice Named US Army All-American
Catholic High School senior running back Derrius Guice was presented his Army All-American Bowl game jersey by John Schmid, an Army Bowl representative, on Friday, December 5, 2014, at 3 p.m. The presentation took place on the CHS campus.
The U.S. Army All-American Bowl features the best 90 players in an annual East vs. West matchup every January in San Antonioí´s Alamodome. The Army Bowl is televised live worldwide on NBC. Last yearí´s U.S. Army All-American Bowl marked the 14th-anniversary of the Bowl and drew a crowd of 40,000-plus for the second consecutive year.
In the 2014 season, Guice had 1,331 rushing yards on 149 carries with 20 touchdowns. He had 38 catches for 521 yards and 9 touchdowns. He had one touchdown on a 74-yard punt return bringing his total to 30 touchdowns for the season. Guice completes his high school career with 3,268 rushing yards and 45 touchdowns averaging 7.99 yards per carry. He totaled 712 yards with 54 pass receptions and 11 touchdowns and scored on two kickoff returns and one punt return.

The 2015 U.S. Army All-American Bowl will take place on January 3, 2015, at 12 p.m. central time and will be aired live on NBC.
Derrius is one of five CHS football players to be named All-American. Also named All-Americans during their high school career were Warren Capone ’70, Neal Dellocono ’81, Kevin Franklin ’93 and Travis Minor ’97.
