Seniors Receive Honors at Convocation

Francis Jay Poch_ III was named outstanding graduate of the Class of 2013 at the annual Catholic High School Honors Convocation on May 16, 2013. 

Other special award winners were Mark Russell Babin, Austin Anthony Lala, Taylor James Lemoine, Kevin Mark Ortego Jr. and Brice Alexander Polito í Nationally Recognized Finalists.  Receiving the Principalí´s Award for a 4.0 grade point average were Daniel Brendan Aguillard Jr., Mark Russell Babin,Michael David Doiron Jr., Cecil Farrell Frug_ III, Tyler Lee Peairs, Adam Adras Prevot and Ellis Joseph Sartain. Garret Louis Broussard was named Student Athlete; Jacob Michael Oubre received the Service Award; Zachary Steven Miller was the American Legion Award recipient. Salutatorian was Michael David Doiron Jr. and Mark Russell Babin was Valedictorian.  

Extracurricular award winners were Art Club í Michael David Doiron Jr.; Bearly Published – Brett Patrick Riviere; Bruin í Alexander Douglas Say; Drama Club í Chase Ryan Easley; Fellowship of Christian Athletes í Matthew Lee Moreau; French Club í Corey Lantz King; Hi-Y Youth and Government- Troy Louis Henderson IV; Junior Classical League – David Matthew Summerville; Key Club í William Christopher Pearson; Lacrosse í Jonathon Andrew Miller; Mu Alpha Theta í Michael David Doiron Jr.; National Honor Society í Francis Jay Poch_ III; Photography Club í Alexander Douglas Say; Spanish Club í Stephen William Hurdle; Speech and Debate íAdam Adras Prevot; Student Ambassador í Reece Michael Babin; Student Council í Jacob Michael Oubre; and Ultimate – Mark Thomas Graham.

Academic award winners included  Art í Hunter Charles Kenneth Hurst; Band í Bryson Michael LeJeune; Business and Computer Education í Robert Joseph Kusch II; Chorus í Mark Thomas Graham; English í Michael David Doiron Jr.; French í Mitchell Alden LaBauve; Health and Physical Education í Kurt Michael Becnel; Latin í Hunter Joseph Dupr_; Math í Mark Russell Babin; Religion í Ryan Joseph Harb; Science í Ellis Joseph Sartain; Social Studies í Joseph Paul St. Cyr; and Spanish í Stephen William Hurdle.

Nine seniors were named CHS Men of the Year.  They are Garret Louis Broussard, Ryan Joseph Harb, Mitchell Alden LaBauve, Myles Jordan Nash, Jacob Michael Oubre, William Christopher Pearson, Francis Jay Poch_ III, Alexander Douglas Say and Tyler Tamond Sparrow.
