Seniors Recognized by National Merit Scholarship Program
Three seniors were named National Merit Semifinalists and three seniors were honored as Commended Students in the National Merit Scholarship Program.
National Merit Semifinalists are Alex Maris, Zack Talbot and Clayton Walker.í_
Alex Maris is the son of Brenda and Nikos Maris and attended Westdale Middle School.í_ Zack Talbot is the son of Bart and Suzanne Talbot and attended St. George School. Clayton Walker is the son of Gary and Kathi Walker and attended St. Jude the Apostle School.
Matthew Darouse, Kyle Deville and Roth Salomon were named National Merit Commended Students.
Matthew Darouse is the son of Brian and Pam Darouse and attended St. Jean Vianney School.í_ Kyle Deville is the son of Danny and Karen Deville and attended St. George School.í_ Roth Salomon is the son of Ren_ and Martha Salomon and attended St. Luke’s Episcopal School.
More than 1.5 million juniors in over 21,000 high schools entered the 2009 National Merit Program by taking the 2007 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).í_ The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, which represents less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest scoring entrants in each state.í_
