Seven CHS Seniors Advance In Knights Of Columbus CYLA Scholarship Program

Seven Catholic High seniors have been selected by their respective Knights of Columbus councils to advance in the Catholic Youth Leadership Award Scholarship Program (CYLA). Luke Bella, Luke Dille, Joshua Langlois, Luke McGibboney, Ian McLean, Chris Purnell, and John Wysocki will now compete at the diocesan level. In March, each of the seven dioceses will select one senior boy and one senior girl finalist to compete at the state competition for a $4,000 scholarship.

The CYLA scholarship has been awarded annually by the Knights of Columbus since 1959. The program recognizes young Catholic men and women who are faithful role models to others in their schools, churches or community. By participating in the program, candidates are offered an opportunity to be recognized as one of the best Catholic students in their respective schools. The recognition encourages these outstanding students to hold true to their Catholic values and accept the varied leadership roles they will be asked to fill in the future.
