Sherry Brouillette Selected to NCCAA Board of Directors
Catholic High School Director of College Counseling and Senior Class Counselor Sherry Brouillette, LPC, has been selected to serve on the National Catholic College Admission Association Board of Directors. Serving a two-year term, Brouillette will be one of two high school counselors on the board.
íÍIt is quite an honor for me to be selected for this position on the National CCAA Board of Directors, and I feel the insight gained and the networking opportunities provided will enable me to be a better resource for the students at CHS as they go through the college admissions process,íñ commented Brouillette.
As a board member, Brouillette will assist with overseeing the direction of the organization, including membership, research, partnerships and the annual reception at the National Association for College Admission Counseling conference.
Brouilletteí´s responsibilities will include attending two board meetings each year in addition to the NACAC conference.
íÍOur high school members play a very important role in keeping the college members of the Board focused on the realities of the high school college counseling profession,íñ stated Jon Boeckenstedt, Associate Vice President for Policy and Planning at DePaul University and President of NCCAA.
In addition to serving on the board for NCCAA, Brouillette is also a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling; the Southern Association for College Admission Counseling; the Louisiana Counseling Association; and Louisiana School Counselors Association. As a member of the Southern ACAC, she currently serves as the director of high school counselor workshops for Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee, as well as the chairperson for Louisiana Initiatives.
Brouillette has served as guidance counselor at Catholic High for 12 years.
