Sixth Annual Taste Fair
The Sixth Annual Catholic High School Taste Fair was held on Sunday, November 13, 2005, in the Catholic High School Gymnasium.
Restaurants, caterers and distributors in and around the Baton Rouge area came to showcase samples of their finest food. Over 700 people attended the event.
Participating in this year’s Taste Fair were The Ambrosia Bakery, Argosy/Sheraton Baton Rouge Hotel, Baton Rouge Beer Agency/Miller Lite, Baton Rouge Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Baton Rouge Marriot, Bennigan’s Grill & Tavern, Calandro’s Supermarket, Chinese Inn Bennington, City Caf_, Community Coffee Company, L.L.C., Cou-Yons BBQ, Drusilla Seafood Restaurant and Drusilla Place Catering, Heads & Tails Seafood, Juban’s Restaurant and Catering, The Little Village, Louisiana Lagniappe, Mansurs on the Boulevard, Melting Pot, Parrain’s Seafood Restaurant, Phil’s Oyster Bar, Piccadilly Cafeteria, Pontchartrain Vineyards, Serop’s Caf_/Louisiana Pizza Kitchen, Unique Cuisine, The Village, Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar, Wayne Stablier Catering and Zippy’s Burritos Tacos & More.
Ramona Talley won the $500 door prize.
Proceeds from the event will benefit alumni activities on campus as well as to help fund the Alumni Association Scholarship.
The chairman of this year’s event is Dr. Jimmy Hannie. Members of the planning committee include David Arrighi, Jimmy Zito, Sonny Gomez, Blane Clark, Norman Nolan, Al Wintz, Chris Lee, George Gelpi, Mark Heroman, Patrick Hannie, Frank LeBlanc and Rhaoul Guillaume. Robin Beard, director of the CHS office of alumni relations and Joni Owens, alumni events coordinator of the CHS office of alumni relations also assist in organizing the event.
