Soccer Team Captures Bayou Invitational Tournament Title

The CHS Soccer team defeated Dutchtown Saturday to capture the Bayou Invitational Tournament Title. After 80 hard-fought minutes the game remained tied at 0-0. The Bears came through in a penalty kick shootout with goals by Jack Hymel, Alex Bujenovic, Thomas Boyer, Ryan Landry, Matthew Darousse and Sean Cotton. Goal keeper Ryan Frick made two saves in the shootout to preserve the win.

The JV team also beat Dutchtown by a score of 1-0. Scoring for the Bears was Jeremy Dismukes.

The freshmen soccer team had a good showing going 1-1-1 at the Lafayette tournament this weekend. The Bears lost to the tournament champ Lafayette 0-1, beat Erath by a score of 3-1, and then tied St. Louis 1-1.

The soccer game scheduled against U-High has been rescheduled to January 27 at U-High. The teams return to action on Saturday, December 13, at Burbank against East Ascension at 1 p.m.
