Soccer Team Finishes Season as District 5 Champs

The Catholic High Soccer team lost its quarterfinal match 4-0 to Captain Shreve.  The score line doesn’t reflect the competitiveness of the game for most of the match.  The Bears came out of the gate strong, and had Shreve rattled for most of the first half, but a goal late in the 1st half against the run of play seemed to change the game.  Being a goal down at half, the Bears had to take more risks going forward which opened them up to several counterattacks with Shreve’s talented front line.  The team continued to fight until the final whistle, but in the end Shreve had too much.

The CHS soccer team finished the season with an 18-9-1 record.  They finished 11-1 in District and were the District 5 Champions.  They made it to the Quarterfinals for the second straight season, and will finish rated somewhere in the Top 10.  Congratulations Bears on a great season!
