Soccer Teams Participate in Service for the Homeless

The CHS Freshman, JV and Varsity Soccer teams participated in service projects for Capital Area Alliance for the Homeless on Saturday, December 22, 2012.

The freshman and JV teams met in the CHS Union on Saturday morning to put together 140 snack bags for visitors at the shelter. The players each were in charge of purchasing an item to donate to the bags, and they packaged the items as a team.

The varsity team members delivered the snack bags to Capital Area Alliance for the Homeless and stayed to assist with shelter needs. The players helped clean up the garden, move boxes to storage and help set up the computer lab, which will assist clients with job searching and resume writing.

All team members donated new or gently-used sweatshirts and blankets, which were also donated to the shelter.
