Sophomore Brennan Major To Participate in Leadership Conference
CHS Sophomore Brennan Major has been invited to participate in a leadership development experience, the National Young Leaders Conference (NYLC): Skills in Leadership for Change, an Envision program to be held this summer in Washington, D.C. His participation in the conference will earn him a college credit from George Mason University.
This one-week conference is designed to build leadership skills and strategies that are critical for leaders in the 21st century. Throughout the week, students will learn the skills and art of standing out from the crowd in any profession, networking, social media management, communication, conflict resolution and self-promotion.
Brennan participated in the regional program last year in Mobile, Alabama after being elected Governor through the mock youth legislature while in 8th grade.
In addition, Brennan has taken the initiative to fundraise for his effort via a gofundme.org account. He wrote letters to friends and family and raised over $3,500 in order to pay for his attendance.
