Sophomore Recognized as Cadet of the Year

C/M Sgt. Frederick Antoine, CHS sophomore, was named the 2013 Cadet Member of the Year for the Capitol City Composite Squadron of the Louisiana Wing Civil Air Patrol at an award ceremony held on Monday, February 3.

Antoine has been an active member of the Capitol City Composite Squadron for three years and was chosen as Honor Cadet while attending the Louisiana Wings Annual Summer Wing Encampment this past summer.  Civil Air Patrol is a non-profit organization, chartered by the U.S. Congress as the United States Air Force Auxiliary. Civil Air Patrol carries out three primary missions: Aerospace Education, Cadet Programs, and Emergency Services.

Antoine enjoys being a member of the Capitol City squadron because this program of service and action has instilled in him a strong sense of discipline. Because of his commitment and his outstanding performance, he was unanimously voted as Cadet of the year by his fellow squadron members.

íÍThis award means a great deal to me because it signifies that I am a premier cadet and that I have made an impact on my squadron,íñ commented Antoine.

After graduating from CHS, Antoine hopes to attend the United States Air Force Academy.
