Stephen Crosby One of Three Students Nominated by Diocese of Baton Rouge

Senior Stephen Crosby has been selected as one of three students by the Diocese of Baton Rouge to be considered for the United States Senate Youth Program held in Washington, D.C. March 3-10, 2012.  Two students from each state will be selected for this program.

The United States Senate Youth Program was established in 1962 by U.S. Senate Resolution as a unique educational experience for outstanding high school students interested in pursuing careers in public service.  Students will spend a week in Washington experiencing the national government in action.  Student delegates will hear major policy addresses by Senators, cabinet members, officials from the Departments of State and Defense, and directors of other federal agencies. They will also participate in a meeting with a Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.

Transportation, hotel and meal expenses are provided by The Hearst Foundations.

At Catholic High School, Crosby was named a National Merit Semifinalist.  He serves as Drum Major of the band, vice president of the Honor Board and vice president of Mu Alpha Theta.

He is the son of Katherine and Jeff Crosby.
