Student Ministers Attend Training Workshop

The CHS Student Ministry team attended a training workshop July 23-25  at St. Stanislaus College Preparatory School in Bay St. Louis, Miss. Student Ministry teams from Brother Martin High School, St. Scholastica Academy and St. Stanislaus also participated in this workshop.

During this workshop, student ministers were given the opportunity to learn effective communications skills, study the different types of prayer and get advice on how to lead a prayer group. Each day began with a group training, which included all 200 student ministers present at the retreat. After the group training, student ministers attended breakout sessions of their choice until each school ministry team met as a group to conclude the day.

Along with training, CHS student ministers had the unique opportunity to engage in fellowship activities with the student ministers from Brother Martin, St. Scholastica and St. Stanislaus. Participants were able to swim and fish in the gulf, take walks on the beach and play sports in their free time.

The CHS Student Ministry team consists of 60 juniors and seniors who spiritually mentor the incoming freshmen and plan school liturgies and experiences of prayer.
