Students Place at District Literary Rally
Twenty-two Catholic High students achieved scores at District Literary Rally that qualify them for State Rally at LSU in April.
Placing first at District Rally were Eric Rohli, Algebra II; Hunter Dupre, Biology I; Alex Bates, Computer Science; Casey Fitzgerald, Physics; and Nick Ysidron, Spanish II.
Finishing second place were Benjamin Wiseman, Advanced Math II; Kenny Zielewski, Biology II; Michael Kelly, Computer Science; Cullen Hodges, English I; David Stewart, English III; Brady Sperier, Environmental Science; Andrew Carmichael, Journalism I; Ray Decuir, Physics; and Mac Hoffman, Spanish III.
Third place finishers included Christopher Sloas, Advanced Math I; Stephen Crosby, Chemistry; Danny Gates, English II; Kevin Ward, French III; Mark Babin, Geometry; and Gerard Zimmerman, Journalism I.
Also qualifying for participation at State Rally based on their scores were Nick Sereda, fifth in Algebra I; Christopher Focht, sixth in English IV; Michael St. Blanc, fifth in Free Enterprise; Seth Davidson, fifth in Introduction to Business Computer A; Patrick Isacks, fourth in Spanish I; and Russ Guidry, fourth in World History.
A school can only send one person per subject to State Rally; therefore, if Catholic High had first and second places in a subject, only the first place student will attend State Rally.
