Students Recognized at 2016 Academic Convocation
Catholic High School recognized students at the Academic Convocation on Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, for their achievements in academic excellence.
First honors certificates and pins were given to students who have maintained a cumulative 3.5 grade point average, and highest honors certificates and pins were given to students who have maintained a cumulative 4.0 grade point average. Special awards were also given to Nationally Recognized students, and for achievements at National Latin Exam and State Rally. Philip Tullier was honored for earning the Summa Cum Laude certificate and gold medal for the National Latin Exam, as well as achieving a perfect score.
Jacob Cavana Õ17, Ryan Haycook Õ17 and Carmelo Riazuelo Õ17 received the Brent David Pecue Ô80 Memorial Scholarship, and Joseph Bagnerise Õ17 received the Jordan T. ÒJordyÓ Rourke Ô06 Memorial Scholarship. The recipient of the F. Wayne Frey Õ71 and Marjorie ÒGrammyÓ Frey Memorial Endowed Scholarship was Cameron Carpenter Õ17. The Brother Adrian Gaudin, SC Scribe Memorial Endowed Scholarship, established by the Gaudin Family, was awarded to Patrick Mahoney Õ17. The Mildred Creaghan Robichaux and Gertrude Creaghan Memorial Endowed Scholarship in Honor of Brother Carl Evans, SC was awarded to Jonathan Herin Õ18.
Fourteen seniors were recognized for having a 4.0 cumulative GPA. Those recognized were Drew Argrave, Matthew Berdon, Hall Michael Braud, Zack Crawford, Patrick Crifasi, Will de la Bretonne, Hayden Denham, Collin DeVillier, Ryan DeVillier, Andrew Ford, Michael LeBas, Brian Long, Dominic Maggio and Nicholas Mueller.
