Students Recognized At 2018 Academic Convocation
Catholic High School recognized students at the Academic Convocation on Monday, Sept. 25, 2018, for their achievements in academic excellence.
First honors certificates and pins were given to students who have maintained a cumulative 3.5 grade point average, and highest honors certificates and pins were given to students who have maintained a cumulative 4.0 grade point average. Special awards were also given to Nationally Recognized students, and for achievements at National Latin Exam and State Rally. Fourteen students were honored for earning the Summa Cum Laude certificate and gold medal for the National Latin Exam. Those students were Cade Acosta, Everett Bonner, Jacob Brown, Hunter Doiron, Tommy Hertel, Joshua Langlois, James Lauve, James Lindquist, Joseph Mengis, Joshua Pforr, Marshall St. Amant, Andrew Stassi, Christian Thompson and Philip Tullier. Grant Alumbaugh received special recognition for earning the Summa Cum Laude certificate and gold medal for the National Latin Exam, in addition to making a perfect score on the exam for the second year in a row.
Lance Gaupp ’19, Cody Patriquin ’19 and Daniel Woodruff ’19 received the Brent David Pecue ’80 Memorial Scholarship, and Hunter Antie ’19 received the Jordan T. “Jordy” Rourke ’06 Memorial Scholarship. The recipient of the F. Wayne Frey ’71 and Marjorie “Grammy” Frey Memorial Endowed Scholarship was Lyndon Wilbert ’19. The Brother Adrian Gaudin, S.C. Scribe Memorial Endowed Scholarship, established by the Gaudin Family, was awarded to Connor Eisenbraun ’19.
Sixteen seniors were recognized for having a 4.0 cumulative GPA. Those recognized were Grant Alumbaugh, Hunter Antie, Kyle Becnel, Everett Bonner, Christopher Cronin, Hunter Doiron, James Lalonde, Jack Lieux, Jacob Limbocker, Harper Massey, Joseph Mengis, Nick Robert, Sayer Sauviac, Garrett Tassin, Jack Wilfert and Daniel Woodruff.
